My daughter is 7 and she has had eczema since around age 2. It is a pain in the #@!. She can not do things other kids can do, like swim or stay out in the elements for long periods of time. She gets spots on her skin from the sun and her skin dries out extremely from the water. I have been to so many doctors and all seem to tell me the same thing. There is no cure, only prevention. Any help is appreciated.Does anyone have atopical eczema? If so, do you know of an alternative medicine or cream that helps?
Here is a study how Chinese herbs help eczema.

Chinese medicine is considered alternative but works really wellDoes anyone have atopical eczema? If so, do you know of an alternative medicine or cream that helps?
naturopaths are utterly briliant with this kind of thing. Aqueous cream with herbs like nettle in it can be fantastic. Go to a naturopath or the very least a health food store. Personally I say nettle (also known as Urtica) cream. It rocks!
i have a small cousin who's 6, who has had eczema also. she takes swimming lesssons, and is outside a lot. her mom uses a cream prescribed by the doctor, and some kind of oatmeal bath. she does it everyday, but by now, the child is old enough to apply the cream herself, and she's not bothered by it anymore. ask your doctor about it.
Tea Tree Oil - It will cure anything. You can buy it at Wal-mart for about $7. I like to use a spryer for it so as to mist it on infected areas. It will cure any kind of rash, itch or wound. You may inhale it, use it in your ears or anywhere that is infected. Be very careful if you mist it into your eyes. You might dilute it first with purified water. It will burn at first. If you will lightly spray it on your toothbrush before brushing your teeth, you will never have another cavity.
yeah i have eczema too, had it since i was little... i use Elocon (the ointment) because i'm allergic to the cream...
i'm allergic to alternatives so i can't really use them.. :(
my grand son has it. we use all soaps and shampoos that do not have dyes or scents, and etc. there is also a cream that you can get from the dr called elidel. it worked wonders on him. hope this helps, and good luck. he is growing out of it as he gets older, if that helps any
I've suffered from eczema since I was a child too and understand the pains of having to go through atopic eczema all my life.
There are things that you can do to help in prevention. Have you considered giving her probiotics? What about dead sea salt bath? Emu oil supplements for EFAs?
AVEENO BABY IS GREAT! It's only 10-15 bucks. I used to have eczema all over my feet, so then i started to put it on every morning and every night, and all that's left is scars from where i scratched sooo much. SOOO.. try it. It's a lot better than stupid perscriptions.
