Whats the best way to stop the itching of posion ivy without using any medicine/cream?

i have poison all over my face and its really irritating me. i went to the doctor and got a shot so it should clear up by tomorrow...but for now...its still really ichy and annoying. what should i do? i tried itch stopping cream like benadryl but i dont really like that and ive been putting ice on...which feels good but doesnt stop the itching once you take it off. thank you for your help in advance!Whats the best way to stop the itching of posion ivy without using any medicine/cream?

try oatmeal. use more water than if you were going to eat it.
Go to the pharmacy and get Ivy Dry. That's really good. Also get the stuff that you can put in your bath water....it's made with oatmeal, and it helps a lot too. Ask the pharmacist to show you where it is and which one he recommends. It's all over the counter.
avenno oatmeal bath.
put ice on it
Rub a banana peel on it. this will dry it out in a day. and it will be gone
Try taking a cool bath in baking soda, I learned that from the wee ones getting itchy rashes it really seems to work.


Alcohol will stop itching too, but not for very long.
